The endogenic community is just one of many non-traumagenic plural communities that exist in the present-day. The label "endogenic" may be used at times to refer only to those who lack traumatic or purposeful origins for their plurality, but there are a variety of other communities that exist or have existed and also focus on non-traumagenic plurality, or have concepts that are similar. Please note that while these communities are often listed under or alongside the plural umbrella, some individuals in these communities may or may not consider themselves a part of the plural community, or decline to associate with it.

Daemonism: The daemonism community is a community focused on creating psychological constructs called daemons. Much like in Phillip Pullman's The Golden Compass, daemons in this community are a human's personality or soul represented as an animal (Introduction, n.d.). This construct represents the subconscious of the daemian and can talk and be seen by a daemian if projected, although most daemians do not believe their daemon to be an actual sentient entity apart from them, nor identify as plural due to having a daemon (Introduction, n.d.).

Soulbonding: The soulbonding community is a community that is focused on making connections to those from stories and media (The Living Library, n.d.). Soulbonders are those who find that a character has "come to life" in their mind, has their own autonomy, and can do as they wish, sometimes even acting contrary to what the person would expect, or what a piece of media would dictate (The Living Library, n.d.). The term "soulbonding" was coined by Amanda Flowers, a member of the Just For Writers online mailing list (What is Soulbonding? n.d.).  From soulbonding we get terms important to the community, such as "headmate" (A, 2017) and "fictive" (Possamaï, 2012).

Tulpamancy: Tulpamancy is the practice of creating a headmate from scratch, often called a tulpa (Welcome, n.d.). The word "tulpa" originates from the Buddhist practice of using spiritual or mental power to create an entity, of which was sometimes seen physically (Tulpa, n.d.). Contrary to this practice, the western version of tulpas eschews most of the metaphysical and supernatural connotations, and has diverged into its own practice separate from the original version (What is a Tulpa?, n.d.). Modern tulpamancers attempt to create headmates as sentient companions and friends, not as metaphysical servants, and intend to share their lives with them permanently.
